Translating regulations from Serbian into English is a very
difficult task for many reasons, among which:
- translation of a regulation must be verified by
competent authorities who created the regulation;
- the only valid regulation text is the one published in
an official gazette;
- Serbian language has many specificities, such as words representing
effort of former legislators to make unique institutes and terms
in order to demonstrate
specific development of the
country that has declared itself as "something between" western
democracy and eastern communism in past 50 years.
Having these reasons in
mind, we have decided, at least for now, not to translate Serbian regulations
relevant for foreign trade, customs duty,
foreign exchange and taxation, but only to
list them. We have found some regulation texts in
English on the Internet and made hyperlinks to their locations.
